Rotary Actuators
A rotary actuator is a type of gearbox specifically designed to handle high radial, axial, and moment loads. It is built to withstand heavy loads while providing high rotational output torque. rotary actuators consist of a worm gear mechanism, a metal bearing component, rubber seals, and sturdy housing to protect the working components from environmental factors such as dirt, water, and dust. They operate similarly to worm gears, where the rotational motion of the worm gear translates into rotary motion of the perpendicular axis, resulting in a decrease in speed and an increase in torque of the driven member (the worm wheel). The output speed of the worm wheel depends on the ratio of the threads on the worm gear to the number of teeth on the worm wheel.
